What is the basic purpose of staff counseling?

Counseling in the first place can be considered as a professional relationship between a counselor and a client or an employee. It is designed to help clarify certain issues that employees or clients have depending on the situation they are in.
When staff seeks counseling, their sole purpose out of it is to gain confidence in themselves regarding their issues. They also look forward for a change in their lifestyle, their mood, thoughts and feelings that have been preventing them from enjoying life and make them realize their potential.
As a counselor, one has to make sure that the counseling session is fully confidential. The counselor in question should be able to help the client put the past behind them and reduce their anxiety and depression if they have any. A counselor also makes sure that communication and understanding helps into making you a better person.
